Community Guidelines
(PURE 1 is fiscally sponsored by Independent Arts & Media (IAM), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.)
Pure1.org wants your voice to be heard! Our community driven platform was designed to provide a safe space where every stakeholder’s voice could be heard, providing various features for engaging other users, sharing key criminal justice system change resources, and providing feedback about the programs and services organizations provide to the reentry and homeless communities- positive or negative. These Community Guidelines will help you use features, including Service Provider Customer Reviews, Community Member Discussion Board replies, National News Article comments, and Metro Area Blog posts and comments.
Note: These Guidelines apply to all individual and organizational community members in order to provide a safe space promoting mutual respect, positive systems change, opportunities for individual improvement and engagement by all stakeholders.
We take the integrity of the Community seriously. Any attempt to manipulate Community content or features, including by contributing false, misleading, or fraudulent content, is strictly prohibited. If you violate our Guidelines, we may remove content and restrict or terminate your ability to use our platform. If we determine that an account has been used to engage in any form of misconduct, we reserve the right to terminate your account and you agree to forfeit any payments made for membership access. Misconduct may also violate state and federal laws, including the Federal Trade Commission Act, and can lead to legal action and civil and criminal penalties.
We encourage anyone who suspects violations of our Terms of Use in any way to Report Abuse immediately. We will investigate concerns thoroughly and take any appropriate actions.
By accessing or using our Community Member Platform, you agree to our Terms of Use, our Community Terms of Use and agree to abide by these Guidelines as modified from time to time. These Guidelines also apply to your interactions with other members of the Community.

Eligibility
To contribute to Free Community Member features (for example, Service Provider Reviews, Individual Impact Surveys, and Discussion Board replies) you must be a Justice Involved: Individual Subscriber. To contribute to Supporting Community Member features (for example, to post National News and Metro Area Blog Comments), you must be a Community Builder or Registered Organization, using a valid credit or debit card to register within the past 12 months. You do not need to meet this requirement to view service provider listings or read content posted by other contributors.
Be Helpful and Relevant
The Community is intended to provide helpful and relevant content to all systems-impacted stakeholders. Content you submit should be relevant, timely, credible and have source information provided when applicable. When providing reviews and completing surveys/opinion polls, please provide your own honest opinions and experience.
- For Community features focused on a specific topic, you should only submit content related to that topic.
- Service Provider Reviews should be about the products, programs or services you personally received from that provider. Feedback from the provider can be shared directly on the Service Provider’s
Listing page in our Service Locator Portal.
Respect Others
PURE 1 values diverse opinions, from every stakeholder, so you may disagree with some content that you come across. Keep in mind that something that you disagree with may not violate our Guidelines. In order to maintain a welcoming environment for all users, your participation in the Community must always be respectful of others. In particular:
- Don’t post content that is libelous, harassing, defamatory, threatening, or inflammatory. For example, don’t use obscenities or profanity, and don’t express any type of hatred or intolerance for people of any race, ethnicity, nationality, gender or gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability. This also includes promoting any organizations with such views.
- Don’t engage in name-calling or attacking people due to disagreeing with their views or opinions.
- Don’t post content that is obscene, pornographic, or lewd, or that contains any type of nudity or sexually explicit images.
- Don’t impersonate other people or organizations or pretend to be someone or something you’re not.
- Don’t create multiple accounts or collude with others in order to defame or discredit a service provider. Only post reviews on service providers that you’ve personally received services from, concisely articulating why you’ve rated them positively or negatively.
- Don’t abuse survey polls by creating multiple accounts to take the same survey multiple times.
- Don’t repeatedly send messages or requests to other people.
- Don’t post content that invades others’ privacy. For example, don’t post other people’s phone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, or other personal information, and don’t post links to phishing or other malware sites.
- Don’t attempt to drown out other people’s opinions or views. This includes by creating multiple accounts or coordinating with others.
You may question the beliefs and views of others so long as it is relevant and done in a respectful and non-threatening manner.
